At the end of March numbers were tallied to see how many jobs were lost in the first quarter of 2009 all over the world. As the numbers came in it was realised that Spain has an unemployment rate of over 17 percent. Since the economic crisis began 2 million people have lost their jobs in Spain. This is double the unemployment loss that already existed. Currently Spain has 4 million people out of work.

Experts from the Bank of Spain expect the unemployment rate to reach at least 19.4 percent by 2010 in Spain. For those suffering job losses Trabajo Barcelona is there to show you that all is not lost. Their site provides a number of job listings around the world and in Spain. They also provide advice to those who may need financial help, help finding a job, or any other job loss related issues. Government officials in Spain believe that 2009 will be the worst part of the economic crisis. They believe they are in the eye of the storm right now, where it is calm, but will get a little worse before it starts to improve.

What they know for sure is that unemployment is up 3.45 percent since 2008.
